Waterfall Kitchen Islands
A waterfall island carries the countertop down one or both sides to the floor, so the island reads as a single piece of stone. Done well, the veining flows over the edge without a break. That comes down to slab selection, layout and a precise mitered joint.
Because waterfalls use more stone and make the slab's pattern the focal point, we plan them carefully: which slab, which direction the veining runs, and where any seams go. That planning starts at your free in-home consultation.

How your project works
No showroom visit needed. We come to you, you choose your slab where you like, and our own team fabricates and installs it.
Free in-home consultation
We come to you. In your kitchen, bath or backyard we look at the space, take preliminary measurements, talk through layout, edges, sinks and overhangs, and review material options with you. Your estimate follows from this visit, at no cost.
Slab selection
Pick your slab at MSI Surfaces or Natural Stone Resources, where we are an authorized dealer, or at any other slab yard you like. With natural stone, the slab you choose is the slab we fabricate, so we'll tell you what to check before you commit: size, thickness, finish and how the veining will fall across your layout.
Templating
Once cabinets or bases are set, we template the exact surfaces: walls, corners, appliance openings and fixture locations. Templating sets every cut, seam and overhang.
In-house fabrication
Your slab is cut, edged and finished in GlamourStone's own fabrication shop: sink and cooktop cutouts, edge profiles, mitered waterfall joints and the vein layout we agreed on.
Installation
Our team sets, levels, seams and finishes the stone in your home, prepares openings for your plumber, cleans up and walks you through care for your specific material.

These are the details that shape an accurate estimate and a clean installation.
Slab size and count
A waterfall island usually needs more material than a flat island, often a full slab or more. Measure first, then choose a slab with enough usable area.
Vein direction
Decide whether veining should run along the island or wrap over the edge. It affects how the slab is cut and how much is used.
Floor level
Waterfall ends sit on the finished floor. Uneven floors and the timing of floor installation should be discussed before templating.
Protecting the corners
Mitered corners are crisp. A slightly eased edge helps them resist chipping in a busy kitchen.

It depends on island size and whether one or both ends waterfall. We calculate it from your layout during the consultation.
Can you match the veining over the edge?
When the slab allows, yes. We plan the cut so the pattern continues across the mitered joint.
Can a waterfall be added to an existing island?
Sometimes, if the cabinets and floor allow and matching stone is available. We'll assess it in person.
