Full-Height Slab Backsplashes
A full-height slab backsplash runs the stone from the countertop up to the cabinets, the range hood or the ceiling. There are no grout lines, and the pattern of the stone becomes the wall.
Because the backsplash is so visible, we plan it together with the countertop: which part of the slab goes on the wall, how the veining lines up with the counter, and where outlets, windows and shelves interrupt it.

Our process
How your project works
No showroom visit needed. We come to you, you choose your slab where you like, and our own team fabricates and installs it.
Free in-home consultation
We come to you. In your kitchen, bath or backyard we look at the space, take preliminary measurements, talk through layout, edges, sinks and overhangs, and review material options with you. Your estimate follows from this visit, at no cost.
Slab selection
Pick your slab at MSI Surfaces or Natural Stone Resources, where we are an authorized dealer, or at any other slab yard you like. With natural stone, the slab you choose is the slab we fabricate, so we'll tell you what to check before you commit: size, thickness, finish and how the veining will fall across your layout.
Templating
Once cabinets or bases are set, we template the exact surfaces: walls, corners, appliance openings and fixture locations. Templating sets every cut, seam and overhang.
In-house fabrication
Your slab is cut, edged and finished in GlamourStone's own fabrication shop: sink and cooktop cutouts, edge profiles, mitered waterfall joints and the vein layout we agreed on.
Installation
Our team sets, levels, seams and finishes the stone in your home, prepares openings for your plumber, cleans up and walks you through care for your specific material.
Good to know
Things to consider
These are the details that shape an accurate estimate and a clean installation.
Enough slab for counter and wall
Plan the backsplash before buying slabs. The wall pieces often need their own slab, especially for continuous veining.
Electrical
Outlets in a slab backsplash need exact cutouts. Some homeowners move outlets under cabinets. Discuss this with your electrician before templating.
Range and hood
High heat behind a range is usually fine for stone and porcelain, but hood placement and any pot-filler should be fixed before templating.
Wall flatness
Uneven walls affect how panels sit. We check walls at templating.
FAQ
Common questions
Ask us anything else during your free in-home consultation.
Does a slab backsplash have to match the countertop?
No, but most clients choose the same slab for a continuous look. Contrasting stone is also possible.
Can porcelain slabs be used for a backsplash?
Yes. MSI porcelain slabs list walls and backsplashes among their applications; check each product page.
Do outlets have to move?
Not necessarily. We cut outlet openings, but some clients relocate outlets for a cleaner look.
